President George W. Bush only has a short time left in office. Why not just go silent now and let his infamous legacy fizzle out? Well, because then we would not have all of the great comedy that he provides us with. So, Bush says that he can not boycott the opening ceremony of the Olympics in China because it would “make it more difficult to be able to speak more frankly with the Chinese leadership.” He said that he doesn’t need to skip the ceremonies to show how he feels about religious freedom and human rights in China.

First of all, Bush is not really someone I think cares about religious freedom or human rights. He doesn’t care about those things in the United States. Why would he care about those things in China? He instead cares about money and oil and China is a huge market. He is not going to do anything to mess up future business contact or himself and Dick Cheney. Bush knows that China is a market that can be useful in a number of industries and he needs to keep things on decent terms with Chinese officials. Who knows when they will need contractors or have some sweet oil deal he and Cheney can collaborate on.

Bush does not care if Chinese occupation of Tibet is eight or wrong. He is not a worldly person who cares about things on a global level. He is a good ole boy with an education that was handed to him because of his name. He is not someone that would be well versed on the issues in Tibet. When it comes to world events, I think that Bush is clueless.

Bush is at a summit with other leaders from Asia. The G-8 meetings are underway and global warming is one of the many topics. To further illustrate my point that Bush just does not get it when it comes to issues that effect the world, what is his stance on global warming? Well, basically, he doesn’t care much about it. If China and India want to work on global warming, well fine. But if they are not really willing to put forth any effort, his profound observation is “we’re not going to solve the problem.” Well, yes. That is true but surely a world leader has something more to say about the threat of losing the planet than that.

It is still pretty unbelievable that Bush is the president of the United States. He ahs successfully taken the country to a new low and it is downright painful to listen to the things he has to say. As we wait for his last days in office to dwindle down to nothing, it is hard to listen to the nonsense. I am so very ready for a new president. At this point Mickey Mouse would be a welcome face to see running the country. Just as long as Bush is not the one in charge anymore. We need someone that has a clue about something.

I read a report that really, truly scares my soul. It is reported that the Bush administration which has launched an endless war in Iraq is ready to start a war in Iran. I hope that these rumors are simply not true. Surely there is someone in the administration that is smart enough o recognize the fact that a new war just would not be good for anyone in the world.

The reasons for attacking Iran are not strong enough. I can not imagine that because Iran will allow access to information regarding their nuclear program that their country needs to be attacked. Will the U.S. really attack Iran because of this? I would hope that someone was smart enough to stand up and tell the Bush administration that another war would not only thin out our taxed military but it also would tie the country into another war in a land the we are not familiar with. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been waged in regions where the residents are not sure if they are happy or not about the foreign presence.

At some point world leaders are going to have to recognize the power of talking to one another. Dead bodies and destroyed cities and towns does not make the world a better place. Instead, war makes the entire planet a worst place. Someone has to find a way to stop acting before speaking.

The U.S. says that there are no plans to attack Iran. Hopefully that is the truth and world leaders will be able to come together and talk things out. Recently North Korea decided to declare what was happening in their nuclear program and they recently destroyed their reactor. I don’t know what prompted that but I imagine it was the reason why might be that they need help from the rest of the world. North Korea needs food and aide from other countries in the world. Thus, they decided to give up the reactor.

There is speculation that Iran is helping launch attacks on U.S. soldiers in Iraq. The U.S. ambassador in Baghdad denies that raids are being launched by the U.S. on Iran from Iraq. Bush continues to say that every option is available when it comes to dealing with Iran. However, those involved in the Iraq mission claim that attacks are not being planned or launched from Iraq or Afghanistan. I hope that those claims are true.

Like I’ve stated before, deciding that one country can have nuclear reactors and others can not is very tricky business. Is it appropriate for the country that has nuclear reactors to tell another country that they can not have one? This is a good question that has sparked controversy throughout the world. While I am in favor of peace and harmony, I also understand fairness. Wish that no one had nuclear weapons, but if one person does, what makes it inappropriate for others to not have them? Those are questions that, I guess, have no right answers.

I hate to call anyone stupid but really, the President of the Untied States, George W. Bush is on the verge of being called such a thing. So, even though he has started one war that has no end in sight, he will not rule out attacking Iran if they do not stop their uranium enrichment program. While other leaders are urging diplomatic talks with Iran, the U.S. and Israel seem to be pushing war.

Bush is just not a smart person. He knows that the Iraq invasion was unwarranted and hasty. He also knows that his time left in office is very short. Any offensive that he starts now will likely be left up to the next president to resolve. I guess when you have the lowest approval rating of any president in modern U.S. history you don’t really care what anyone thinks or who has to clean up the mess you leave. It is just too bad that we allowed this man to stay in office. If any president needed to be impeached, it was George W. Bush.

Bush was in Germany on his last diplomatic trip to Europe. He was meeting with Angela Merkel the German Chancellor who thinks, like the rest of Europe, that military action against Iran is not the way to go. However, Bush seems to continue to go back to military action every time he speaks about Iran. It is almost like he is warning us that another stupid decision is on the horizon.

The worst part about Bush still being in power is that he still has the right to make dumb decisions and further ruin the reputation of the United States abroad. As long as Bush is in charge that world knows that he is capable of making a bad, one sided decision. He just doesn’t know enough about the world and other cultures to successfully make international decisions.

When Barack Obama clinched the presumptive democratic nomination an opportunity opened up. If Obama were to win the presidential race, he would be the first president to come to office with perspective that was outside of the realm of mainstream America. He might be able to better relate to other places in the world. The United States has increasingly become isolated and alienated from the rest of the world. Bush claims that his trade agreements are the best way for the country to bridge gaps but that is just double talk for more business opportunities for himself and Cheney. The only real way for the United States to start to open up and bridge gaps with the world is to have a leader that actually has a clue. We need a president that knows that the United States is not the only country, Christianity is not the only religion and that there are non-white people in the world and they are not inherently inferior.

These may sound like harsh words, but really, Bush comes from and isolated background where he is always right, no matter how wrong he might be. The fact that there are other ideas and perspectives in the world just does not cross his mind.

This story falls into the “Well, duh!” category. President Bush misrepresented secret intelligence information to create a case to invade Iraq. That is what the Senate Intelligence Committee has come up with. Of course, I didn’t have to be on any committee to know that this was the case.

It is obvious what happened, in fact, it isn’t even a good plan but for some reason it worked. Bush for whatever reasons, if you ask me, oil was the case, decided that attacking Iraq was thee thing to do. He decided this even though there was no reason to believe that the man he said the United States military was looking for, bin Laden was in Iraq. There was also no evidence to indicate that anyone in Iraq had anything to do with the September 11th attacks. So, my question, when I heard that the U.S. was going to invade Iraq, was why?

Five years later, with thousands of troops dead and an endless war raging, this report comes out. Of course, the lack of weapons of mass destruction was a clue. Then the fact that after the weapons of mass destruction were not discovered there was no war strategy or plan, was another hint that the war had been waged on false pretenses.

Bush preyed on the fears and misconceptions of his nation. A man that said things like “The Axis of Evil” was in charge of an entire country that was terrified after the first terrorist attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor. No one felt safe and there was great fear in the air. An oil hungry man with a vice president eager for more business, as in the massive amount of contractors he is responsible for, decide to take a chance. He dangled a country full of non-Christian, darker skinned people in front of the United States and many people fell for it.

So, everyone lied to us but really, why did so many people believe the lies? The information that the United States government was giving did not make much sense. Taking the “War Against Terror” to a place in the world that had not played a part in the terrorism that the United States had faced was just plain strange. The fact that there was so much support for the war in the beginning was very interesting. It showed how much the general public was really paying attention to the rest of the world.

What does this report mean? Well, at this point it does not mean anything in terms of the war being over or finding a direction. However, it does show how careful we must be when listening to what government has to say. Over the past four years distrust for the government and disdain for the president of the United States has increased drastically. People that once trusted whatever decision the government made are now questioning every move. This report should be a reminder that average everyday people must take an interest in the world around them and know what is going on.

The President of the United States just can not help himself. So he takes a trip to Israel to celebrate the 60th anniversary of that country and he decides it is the perfect time to make an idiotic comment. The way that he phrased his comments and the connotations that he connected to it are deplorable.

Bush did not use names but everyone knows what he is talking about. Senator Obama and a few other democrats have clearly stated that they would be willing to sit down and have discussions with groups and governments that the current administration considers enemies. John McCain recently said that Hamas, a group the United States has classified as a terrorist group would prefer Obama for president. So, Bush piggybacks off of that by saying that some democrats have said they would talk to terrorist just like those that wanted to appease the Nazis. Well, how fitting for Bush to bring the Nazis into the speech and connect it with the present situation in the Middle East on Israeli soil.

Bush has said in the past that he wanted to stay out of what is going on in the 2008 election. The country is on the tail end of one of the worst, if not the worst administration to ever take office. Most of us are just counting down the days until Bush is out of office and never able to be the president again. It would be nice if he would just stop making more of a fool of himself than he already has and ride out these last months. But it seems that he is not satisfied until he says something stupid that casts the United States in a bad light.

All I can hope is that people around the world know that Bush does not represent the views of most Americans. Somehow, by default I believe, he found his way into a second term in office. We have suffered through four more years of recession, a directionless war and unintelligent speeches. Bush has spent eight years offending and embarrassing foreign powers around the world. Anti-American feelings have mounted and grown since Bush has taken office and continually played the role of cowboy president. At this point he should just smile and nod and say nice things until the rest of his term is over.

As I have stated before, what America needs is someone that will engage leaders, regardless of their religion or beliefs. You can not take the position that there are “Evil Doers” or say stupid things like “you are either with us or against us” when you are a president. You have to be open minded enough to understand that everyone is not a born again Christian and white. There are other groups you will have to engage and listen to. Not matter who the next president of the United States is, I hope that they are able to leave some of their personal beliefs at the White House door and view the world as an inclusive place with different types of people. Part of that inclusiveness is sitting down and talking with leaders that you don’t necessarily see eye to eye with.
